a.Curriculum

Nursery (Pre KG, L.K.G & U.K.G)

The first chapter of your child’s education at GPS begins here. The curriculum at GPS for Nursery level has been developed by AstraGen. The team specializes in creating curriculum and content based on the guidelines of various boards including CBSE and the Tamil Nadu State Board.

Academic curriculum with a unique set of modules is curated by experts, to give our students a distinct edge. The integrated curriculum is designed with multi-coloured Course books, Activity books, ArtZone, Assessment sheets, learning aids, eye catchers, 3D Animated Lessons, i-books and i-activities. All the digital tools are accessible 24x7 to students and teachers through user-friendly AstraOne App.

We assure you that by the end of their time at Grace Public School, your daughter or son will be fully prepared for the next step in their education and life. They will have worked together with other people both adults and their peers and learned how to listen, contribute and become a good team player. Arithmetic Reads, writes and recognises numbers up to 1000. Does first order addition and subtraction using beads. Does sums on higher order multiplication and division, fraction, pattern and more. Does data coding, decoding, analysis and interpretation. Helps parents in preparing family budgets.
Concept absorption Understands the meaning of rhymes and stories. Recites rhymes in English and Tamil at least 20. Recites stories at least 5. Understands the meaning of content taught in the subjects and summarises the content with own reflections.
Logical reasoning Differentiates colours, shapes and patterns. Evolves at least 10 questions in a lesson on own (answers may not be available in the textbook; but prompts to find answers)
Communication Speaks action words (e.g. ‘He is playing) on seeing the action or picture. Responds to single sentence questions in English. Makes presentation in English and Tamil using visual aids. Makes a stage performance without fear. Always has eye contact during conversation.
Linguistics Pronounces appropriate English phonetics. Understands the difference between present tense and past tense. Converses in English, at least 10 sentences about any subject. Speaks English with appropriate phonetics.
Creativity Imagines and draws a new situation (sky, house, street, garden etc. Develops stories in Tamil & English independently. Writes letters to family members and friends.
Intra-personal and Emotional Respect elders. Manages strange situations without fear with limited guidance. Respect elders. Possesses empathy.
Computer applications Plays video games. Knows at least booting and shutting down operations. Uses MS-Paint, word applications & more. Knows to browse internet.
